CompSoc has been fortunate in finding a variety of organisations who
have been prepared to help us in one way or another. This page lists the
more major groups such as commercial enterprises who have helped us out.

Warburg Dillon Read
WDR have been involved with the society since Michaelmas term of 1998..
They have attended a few talks as guests, presented their own talk on
"Big Brother" and have now donated a very large amount of equipment
to the society.
The donation included 2 Sun UltraSparc 1's, an HP C110 and lots of SCSI
disk and tape drives

- DecisionSoft Ltd
DecisionSoft Ltd provided the entire funding behind our main Intel user
machine, and have also given several talks about Cold Fusion and XML.

- Progress Computer Systems
Ltd
Daffy, which was for a long time our main server, was donated to CompSoc
by Progress Computer Systems Ltd back in about 1995.
- AOPP, Oxford University
In a clear-out of parts, the Atmospheric and Oceanic Planetary Physics
department allowed a group of mad CompSoc members to pillage a room of old
computer equipment. In the two car loads removed there are a lot of parts
which might have got into use by our members if not the Society.
- Black Cat Networks
Black Cat provide web hosting and domain names to small users. They
provide oour primary DNS server.
- CommUnity Internet
This Oxford-based ISP provides one of our secondary DNS servers.
- Energis Squared
(prev. Planet Online)
Planet Online provide another secondary DNS server, and also handle
secondary MX. They also provide hosting outside .ox.ac.uk for one of our
servers - sparky.ox.compsoc.net.
