Andrew Jackson presents a basic introduction to LaTeX, the typesetting

discusses MVC architechure, heavyweight and lightweight components and
event dispatching. If we're lucky he'll grace this technical talk with a

about life in the real world (or as close as IBM gets). Hopefully
they'll also tell us a bit about IBM's involvment with Java and Linux.

CompSoc's annual excursion to the river. Rained off last year, but the
current committee are planning a weather dance to ensure it actually
happens this time. Anyone who can book a college punt should get in

programming talks. This will be a hands on session with GTK. You'll
need a basic knowledge of C to get the most out of this event.

Malcolm Beattie wraps up this terms PERL theme by talking about using it
to develop real applications rather than just CGI. He'll be covering
some or all of the following: Refs, OO programming, DBI for SQL
