The Old World has for most of its history been divided into a small number of sovereign nations, so it has fewer rulers to list, but they are usually easier to identify than their counterparts on other continents.
Lord Mortis is known as the Lich Lord. His place here among the names of gods and demigods is due to the strong belief that Lord Mortis was the first "high priest" of Death among those humans subverted before the First Battle. However, this conviction can be traced to an ill-informed suggestion made by the High Priest and is contradicted by the available evidence. The Lich Lord was a powerful necromancer who lived (i.e. was actually alive) on Stayng Island a little over two hundred years ago and had mastered death to the extent that only the Spear of Qadarnai could kill him. This exceptional power led to the confusion.
Nevertheless, It is believed that prominent humans subverted by Evil, such as Voivod, were raised to almost demigod status by Death and served him during the First Battle, and this may include someone going by the name Mortis. Certainly this name has featured on a number of occasions throughout Titan's history.
