The Shrine of Hamaskis. The City of Mazes |  ![]() |
The High Priest would like to thank Jared Milne for making available to us the following description of The City of Mazes in Brice from the Cyclopaedia of the Old World by Sir Jarvis of St. Wymerios University, Crystal City.
Essentially the lower quarter of the Forbidden Fortress exists here, in all its squalid glory. All the usual pleasure dens are present here, as well as slave markets and even more sleazy taverns for the pleasures of pirates. Why Brice, with all their military power, does not act to crush these plagues upon the sea, baffles me, but I suspect their slave-taking contributes much to the Brician economy. On my travels to Allansia, I have had the distinct displeasure of stopping at a hovel called Port Blacksand. The similarities between this place and the City of Mazes are striking. Anarchy is the ruler here - while a noble is supposed to impose law and order, he is involved in just as many illicit activities as any criminal.
