Heroes of the First Battle

Voivod

It is believed that Voivod was once human and was raised to a demi-God status by Death in the First Battle. As to whether he was seduced by the evil forces or was imprisoned by Death is still a matter of debate. Certainly we know that Voivod was an awesome warrior and a leader of men before his defection to the side of Death and his minions.

He has managed to keep the hard steel armour from that time in which the man who he was is imprisoned and cannot escape. Voivod was termed the Lord of the Shadow Warriors, who including himself numbered six in total. He was also referred to as the Warlord of the Apocalypse and ranked among the highest of Death's servants. It is thought higher even than the Demon Princes.

From an ancient manuscript called the Astrakkaans Numeris it was written that:
Set upon the world of Titan did the Voivod commit atrocities and cast he down the fortress of Megeiron to the wails of the forgotten and the damned on the eve of lost souls. Cruelly did he tear down the walls and take the tribes of Megeiron to the plains of Shabbad where he subjected them to many miseries and torments and the earth shook with his wrath.

It is believed Megeiron was one of the first major towns or cities in the Femphrey region, and the greatest of all the tribes roaming that area.

It took both Titan and Throff to imprison him below ground, which is testimony to his power for they were unable to kill death itself and therefore could not extinguish his flame.

The Night Dragon

One of the Ancient Dragons created by Kilanirax but subverted by the Dark Lords to fight on their side. This Dragon still rests somewhere and it is thought that place may be on Titan.

Allansian Heroes

I highly doubt Yaztromo would have survived to this time (after all, he was at least 75 years old in 284 AC, and now it's 293 AC in our version). So, who's replaced good old Yaztromo? Why not our old friend from Dungeoneer, Baradas Rangor? The way I see it, most of the other companions are dead.

Jerek was cut down in a battle with frost giants while he and his mercenary company were passing through the territory of Kaypong, in the company of Axel and the Stormchild tribe. His heart hungered for adventure even after the companions disbanded, so he took his share of their money and formed his own mercenary group. Fighting chaotics in the Forest of Spiders, dark elves and raiding Salamonians in Darkwood, and also slaying the notorious Scarlet Claw Society that very nearly destroyed Fang. Jerek's most notorious moment came when he refused to fight for the corrupt King Salamon, and disarmed a dozen of his guards when the king would not let him leave. His skill as a swordsman was legendary, and there were no shortage of warriors who flocked to his side for employment.

Axel himself was killed some time after that in a battle with attacking warriors from Fang. However, his 18 year-old son cut down the man who slew the old barbarian. Axel had decided to become an elder in his tribe, as well as a warband leader. The frost giants and rival barbarians were wary of his titanic strength and fighting skill. No man on all the plains could best him in either department, and indeed it was a poisoned dart that weakened him so that he could be killed.

As for Grimbold, he produced two fine sons himself, but he simply died of old age, leaving his younger son to take over as chieftain after the older one had a falling out about adventuring. Grimbold's might as a warrior was well-known, as was his terrible wrath when angered. He wast not cruel or tyrannical, however. He only directed his anger mostly towards the aggressors of his clan. Many a troll suffered at his hands for their aggression.

Gordo also died of old age, but he had done much for the social reform in Fang, using his considerable wealth and influence with the thieves' guild to improve the way of life for the poor. When he returned there after the companions disbanded, he immediately used his wealth to join ties with the upper crust, and became a well-respected gentryman, who also subtly used his influence for the good of the common people.

As for Aspen, she has retired to take over elven politics and raise her twin sons. Now living far to the northeast in the Forest of Night, she acts as a mediator between the humans and elves of the realm. Her ability as a wizard is considerable, but she adventures little nowadays, as her public life places amny demands on her time.

Baradas studied mathematics for a long while in Salamonis, before the corrupt King Salamon LXVIII took the throne, secretly sponsored by the church of Elim. Jerek's actions against the king were legendary, and Baradas soon moved out of Salamonis in disgust at the king's general rule and moved to Silverton, where he set up his own magical school, where he not only studied high magic, growing to become one of the greatest sorcerers of his age, but also to work against the Elimites. However, after thirty years of this, he left Silverton and moved into Yaztromo's Tower as the new guardian of Darkwood when Gereth died.

Old World Heroes

The Analander

This person is the greatest hero in the history of Analand. A thousand legends have sprung up concerning his exploits from the Shamutanti Hills all the way to Mampang in High Xamen. Most tales picture the Analander as male, and all of them say he is human, but the name changes with every retelling of the legend, making it rather infuriating for us scholars, who want to be certain of what we record.

Several years ago, the Crown of Kings had been passed to the weakened kingdom of Analand, whose King Steiner was using it to great effect in his kingdom to rebuild the nation's economy and morale. However, traitors to the crown stole the magical artifact and met with Bird-Men who then took it back to the evil citadel of Mampang in Kakhabad. The Analander was then commissioned by the King of Analand to retrieve it. He succeeded after facing countless perils, and returned the Crown to King Steiner, after spending a year in Kakhabad.

The Analander is thought to be one of the greatest wizards in Analand, and perhaps the southern Old World at the moment. He serves as an advisor to Queen Ahleesia, and also the court magician. His wisdom has helped her learn how to rule quickly. A deadly warrior and powerful wizard, he has forever sealed his place in Analand history. He now looks out for Analand's interests while travelling both in his own nation and the Old World.
