And here we have directions to places where oxnet people tend to
meet up. See the top page to find out when we
will be where.

- Bookbinders':
- Kake says: Go up Walton Street from town (or Little
Clarendon Street), pass OUP on your left, and turn immediately
left down Great Clarendon Street. Go past a park and Nellie's on
your right, pass Albert Street and School Court, then turn right
onto a street which is probably Canal Street but might not be and
isn't labelled anyway. Go past a tall church tower thing, and the
Bookbinders' is on your right.

- Gardeners Arms:
- Kake says: Go up Woodstock Road from town. Pass the
Horse and Jockey pub on left. The next left is a very small
roadway which looks like someone's drive, but it will be labelled
Plantation Road. Go along this road, and just before you decide
there can't possibly be a pub there, you will see the Gardeners
Arms on the right.

- Lamb & Flag:
- Radcliffe Arms:
- Ganesh says: From the MI [Maths Institute], cross St
Giles and go down Little Clarendon Street. Turn right onto Walton St
and keep going until you get to Cranham St on the left. The RA is at
the other end of that.
- Tim Ricketts adds: No it isn't. It's just under half
way along (on the corner with Cranham Terrace).
- rejs wonders pedantically: why would anyone want to
start from the Mathematical Institute in the first place? He then
more helpfully points out to non-mathematicians that it's at the top end of St.
Giles near the end of Keble Road and adds links to
a map and
an alternative map.

- The Victoria:
- Kake says: it's roughly where Walton Street turns
into Kingston Road, just opposite Walton Well Road. It's actually on
the corner of Kingston Road and the road that comes across from
Woodstock Road beside the Horse and Jockey. (For those who don't
know where Kingston Road is: it's what Walton Street turns into when
you get far enough away from the town centre.)

- The Red Lion, Wolvercote:
- If searching for (the Wolvercote version of) The White Hart,
follow these directions, and it's then more or less next door,
according to Alan.
- Alan Iwi says: Here are some simple directions, and
some optional variations:
- A) Go along Woodstock Road to the Wolvercote roundabout at the
top, turn *sharp* left at the roundabout onto Godstow Road, follow
road over railway bridge and it's straight ahead of you at the
point where the road bends round to the left.
- Or B) To avoid roundabout, turn left off Woodstock Road onto
First Turn, shortly before the ringroad. Then right into Mere
Road, down the hill and left onto Godstow Road at the bottom,
continue as (A).
- Or C) Cycle along the canal towpath. (NB The towpath improves
in quality north of Frenchay Road, so you may wish to go via
Walton St etc as far as Frenchay Road before joining the canal.)
Keep going on the towpath until you reach Wolvercote Lock, which
is just after a pair of bridges. Come up the steps to your left,
taking you up onto the railway bridge described in (A). Go over
the railway and continue as (A).
- Or D) Take a bus. Before 6.30pm it's the 60, starting on
Magdalen Street by what was Debenhams, next stop is on Woodstock
Road outside the Radcliffe Infirmary. After 6.30pm it's the 60A,
starting from the same place but going via Beaumont Street /
Walton Street. Either way, the return fare is 1.50 and the bus
route goes straight past the pub.
- Geraint adds:
- Or Ci) From Oxford, as opposed to North Oxford, head out along
the Botley Road as far as the grim bit under the western by-pass
flyover just by Elms Rise. Turn sharp right immediately outside
the ring-road up a narrow path which climbs up the side of the
by-pass embankment, and follow your nose. (Admittedly, this
involves negotiating a crossing of the -- is it the new A34? -
which can be difficult at peak times, but after that you're on the
old back road along the edge of the Wytham estate, and if you
resist the siren temptation to cycle off this onto the by-pass at
the Hinksey junction you have the road almost to yourself.)

- University Parks, by the Pond:
- David Sheldon says: north east.
- rols says: Head down from parks road to the bridge
across the river, turn left. Walk about 100 yards. Don't cross the
bridge before turning left.
- Arco block, Keble:
- Kake says: From the front gate of Keble, look right
and head for the corner of the quad diagonally opposite you. You'll
see a big pretty metal gate. Go through this, and Arco block is
directly in front of you. It's the one which looks like it has
architects come and visit to look at it.
