What's available in the UK?

The only major xDSL connection provider in the UK until July 2001 is BT. This is what their base offering includes:

Sold via resellers only (mostly ISPs)

Option 1: USB connectivity to single PC
Initial bandwidth of 500kbit/s download, 250kbit/s upload

Option 2: Ethernet connectivity to LAN
500kbit/s, 1Mbit/s, 2Mbit/s download, 250kbit/s upload
Initially was NAT'ed only

Available in limited city areas only
Phase 1 was 12 major cities
Phase 2 adds smaller towns & cities including Oxford, Reading & Newbury

Not available on Home Highway, ISDN, DACS or some other phone lines
